==========================================

THE BUDSWORTH FAMILY.

KITTY - Kitty was born in about 1805 into the Warmuli (Waymali)Clan and the clan lived in what is now the suburb of Greystanes in Sydney.  She was placed in a missionary private home in Parramatta in July 1813 with 4 other young children from other clans and these 5 were the first into Governor Macquarie's Native Institution in Parramatta.

KITTY AND CADI COLEBEE
She married Colebee (Coleby) (he was 69) (he was 35 when captured in 1789) on the 12th June, 1822 and went to live on a 30 acre block of land in the Richmond Road that Governor Macquarie gave to Colebee and Creek Jemmy/Nurragingy for services rendered.  The block is still vacant and a lovely park is on part of it - this land became known as Blacktown and a suburb with the same name is now adjoining.
Colebee was the son of the Chief of the Boorooberongal Clan (Yarramundee).
Brother to Maria Locke.
Was a Native Constable of the Richmond area Windsor.  Was a Police tracker, and a very good one apparently.
Sometimes went whaling to Tasmania.
Colebee was a drunkard and a no-hoper by all reports.
Colebee died prior to March 1831.
Kitty and Colebee had one son Samual (although some say there were actually 3 children) Samuel was born in 1827 and I believe died in 1884 but listed as a birth in BDM Index.  Living on the Macarthur's property at Camden in the 1850s.

MARIE LOCKE
Sister to Colebee - was in the Parramatta institute with Kitty.
Maria went down in the records because she was the first full-blood to marry a white fella legally.  Also she sat for the test at the institute and came first our of about 100, including the whites.  Prior to marrying Robert Locke, she was married to someone else,  don't know the name.
Robert LOCKE was a convict from Larling Norfold England and he was sent here with his father Jonathan, then later another son arrived here too.
KITTY'S  husband Colebee was dead by the end of 1831.  By this time the Blacktown settlement was abandoned, so the family was probably living in the Windsor-Richmond area.  As the widow of a Boorooberongal man, Kitty would remain on his clan estate (The Richmond area) and would traditionally be married to Colebee's brother, but there was no record of his brother Djimba, since the first meeting with the Europeans in 1791, so it must be assumed he was dead.
There was an aboriginal widow named Kitty, aged in her mid 20s living in the Richmond area in 1831.  There is no record of her in the blanket distribution lists of 1834.  The probability seems high that she married a non-aboriginal person, otherwise she would still be listed.

KITTY AND HENRY JOSEPH BUDSWORTH
Kitty met Henry Joseph Budsworth (known as Joseph) at nearly Clarendon (between Blacktown and Richmond) they married (?) in 1832 and moved to the Cox's sons pastoral run at Breeza near Quirindi where they worked as shepherds.
Kitty and Joseph had 3 sons and 3 daughters (that I know of)
Joseph 1833

John 1843
Catherine 1832
Mary 1849
