Deserting Wives and Families, Service, &c.
Maitland. - A warrant has been issued by the West Maitland Bench for the arrest of William Patrick Dwyer, charged with absenting himself from his apprenticeship with Robert Chapman KENDALL, of Aberglasslyn, on the 17th instant. Dwyer is 18 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, rather slight built, fairish complexion, slight sear on left thumb; dressed in dark cardigan jacket, dark cotton trousers, light tweed vest with small white stripes running through it, brown soft felt bat, and elastic side boots.

Mr Robert Chapman
Kendall who died in
the Masonic Hospital Ashfield, aged 78 years,
was a descendent of a family of early settlers
in New South Wales. He was born in Kiama
and spent his early years in the South Coast
districts. His grandfather spent some time
in New Zealand as the first white missionary,
and later settled on the South Coast. Mr
Kendall was in old resident of Marrickville.
and in former years was connected with the
Marrickville Municipal Council. He was a
Justice of the Peace and a keen bowler. In
the year 1883 he married Miss Marion Bullard
of Stanmore, who with two daughters, Mrs
D. Cooper arid Mrs. H. Cresswell, survive
him.232
