KENDALL Herbert Edward : Service Number - 3029 : Place of Birth - Parramatta, New South Wales, : Place of Enlistment - Lismore, New South Wales, : Next of Kin - (Brother) KENDALL J. He applied for enlistment to the A.I.F. on 30 Dec. 1915.
At enlistment he was 19 years & 3 mths old, was 5’ 7.5” tall and weighed 9 stone 10lbs. He had grey eyes, fair complexion and light brown hair. He had a scar on inside left thigh.
Embarked Brisbane 27 Oct. 1916 on board “Marathon” and disembarked at Plymouth England 9 Jan. 1917. He joined the 13th Tng. Bn. A.F.B213. He went to France in May 1917 and was wounded in action on 25 September 1917 at Etaples, FRA. He died of wounds received in Action G.S.W. Left Shldr. 30 September 1917. He was buried Etaples Military Cemetry, France.
His Will, a copy of which is attested by Estates Branch, London dated 21 Nov. 1917, states:-
In the event of my death I leave The whole of my property and effect to Mr Charles Smith, Burringbar, New South Wales, . Signature H E Kendall, Private, 52nd Battn, May 13, 1917. (Charles Smith was his uncle.)
