My great-uncle, Varley Haddon KENDAL, was, according to family legend, the
first Australian soldier to die in WWI. He had a son, Varley John KENDAL
who, in 1939 was living at 59 Minter Street, Canterbury, New South Wales, and married
Doreen Lucia Linda CLIFFORD about that time.
If any readers should know of this couple or their children, I should very
much like to make contact.
